"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty." ~ John F. Kennedy
Before I get into the meat of this post something is weighing heavy on my soul I need to share. This particular conversation with a family member is not unique, I’ve had this one before with other self minded people and I just want to shake the shit out of those that can’t or won’t see it.
A visiting family member tore my heart out when they said they saw no need for being prepared for anything. This person stated emphatically they just wanted to live in their happy place and wasn’t interested in employing thoughts of things going bad or happening like I was describing to them. Besides, they said, “I wouldn’t want to live in a world like that. I just want to mind my own business.”
If this were the 1950’s, I’d say great, that is wonderful. But in our world today and the devastating chaos all over the globe, I asked; What if the SHTF arrives and you don’t die, you survive, you live through it? And the bad things end up in your neighbor or maybe in your house? Then what? I ask you who then should we address to guarantee human survival if not for those of us already here? Is it being selfish or is it being cowardly to want to “check out” just when things get tough? Is it fair to rest of us?
Sanctuary for illegals. Could a type of Newsoms law come to Michigan?
Sanctuary jurisdictions for Michigan are listed below. These cities, and counties, have laws, ordinances, regulations, resolutions, policies, or other practices that obstruct immigration enforcement and shield criminals from ICE — either by refusing to or prohibiting agencies from complying with ICE detainers, imposing unreasonable conditions on detainer acceptance, denying ICE access to interview incarcerated aliens, or otherwise impeding communication or information exchanges between their personnel and federal immigration officers. In Michigan they are Ingham county, Kalamazoo county, Lansing and Wayne county.
Please, someone enlighten me as to how a living breathing human can walk around with such an unaffectionate, indifferent heart to all the wholesale depopulation of souls, the inhumane destruction and suffering around the world, with more to come, and just want to live in their happy place? I just don’t get it. Where will your happy place be when it shows up brutally on top of your own daughter?
I have difficulty understanding that happy place mind set in this state of chaos.

“I have shopped at this grocery store for a very long time.” Said a caller who called into a live podcast I took time to listen to the other day. “My normal grocery food products are being replaced by strange stuff I’ve never seen before. I asked a man who was stocking the shelves why the different products and what has happened to the usual stuff? What he told me was so scary.” She continued.
The man stocking the shelves told the caller they are getting deliveries of products directed more to immigrants tastes. They don’t like the American diet it seems. With two more phases of Biden’s immigration policies coming at us, more immigrants are coming to settle in Michigan. Looks like we will have to get used to eating Middle Eastern cuisine, he said, or go hungry.
It would make perfect sense then for the caller to see strange food at her favorite grocery store since the Whitmer admin. has been bussing in immigrants and dispersing them in the middle of the night. There is no way of knowing exactly how many new people have been let loose in Michigan. Measles and tuberculosis are screaming, oh happy days we’re here, we’re here!
WHO is pressuring lawmakers to curb Americans addiction to meat. You do know that Biden signed a treaty with WHO? We will loose sovereignty as a country the first of May 2024. So, now Democrat legislators have been tossing around the idea of putting a vice tax on meat. Substudies for the beef industry in particular have subsequently dried up. They got Americans food supply and the healthcare system right where they want them, by the short hairs.
Supply chain issues are going to make big, nasty big, problems shortly. In my humble opinion that ship taking out a vulnerable bridge was an impressive strategic move. Sun Tzu would be so proud.
Now, I’d like ask you another question; Who will be most likely to survive a long term lights out/ SHTF event? People who are used to living in austere conditions, who have a weapon placed in their hands at 10 year old or people who welcome HOA’s and give their 10 year old cell phones and sex change operations? I’m sure you can see where the newcomers have the survival advantage?
“In early April 2024, the US will have visited upon it the second of two lunar eclipse shadows. The first shadow slash on 25 August 2017, the second 8 April 2024 with an “X” crossing out the lower 48 States. Expect earthquakes and economic quakes to follow in the rest of 2024. There will be heightened seismic events in North and Central America, especially in the American and Canadian Pacific Northwest and in Mexico.
In the First Quarter’s end, America confronts the approach of the Greatest Depression. It will initially impact Europe even harder, but Eurasia, given that it is leaving the collective Western economic system and its dollar, will weather it and eventually thrive.
These are the times that try people’s souls in the travails of 2024. They are necessary birth pangs of a new world coming!”
A snippet from John Hogue Prophecy.
In my humble opinion, I now see why we Americans have been soften and pansified. We are being starved and our jobs stolen and many thrown into homeless camps for the expressed purpose that when/if we are able to recover there will be a lot fewer of us left to fight the WEF establishment. Their will be done.
So, now would be a perfect time to check in and take an inventory of your personal skills. SHTF support staff have skills too, different but just as important.
In the movie “Defiance” with Daniel Craig, he rescues a village of Jewish people who were very close to extermination. The people of this Polish village were musicians, artists, scholars, educators, and bankers. Intelligent and gentle people. Daniel Craigs’ character persuaded them to escape the village and follow him. They did. They slipped away before the Nazis arrived but he lead them into the woods. Their new home was a perfect hideout only they didn’t know how to build a shelter, how to keep warm, how to cook food over an open fire, or even how to acquire food. They had no survival skills. These folks had to learn quickly because winter was on its way in northern Poland. If you get a chance to watch that movie I would highly recommend it.
If we fail to hold on to the American lifeboat your next new clothing item might well be something on the order of a Burqa, Niqab and/or a Hijab.
SHTF support staff must haves
There are so many things you will need, I can’t list them all here. This is just a starter list. You are only limited by your imagination of what things you and your family may need.
Yesterday we went through a nasty late winter storm. Wet heavy feet of snow with icy strong winds. Took out our power for about 8 hours. It was a perfect excuse to figure out what worked, what didn’t work and what we needed.
We live out and away from sidewalks and fire hydrants so we know the basics for off grid survival. What I discovered, however, is I was severely lacking in local communication. Even one of our nearest cell towers went out which meant no cell phone except for an occasional text. The national weather service posted on social media and their weather channel that the school had opened as a warming station.
Our K-12 community school is heated by a massive wood pellet burner. It is housed in an out building several yards from the school and is fed by a large automatic auger. Quite impressive if I do say so myself. The school uses propane as a backup.
For us it really didn’t matter that I hadn’t received the notice of the school being open, we stayed toasty warm and hardly knew the power was out because we planned ahead. Actually, years ahead. Let me tell you how utterly quiet it is in the deep dark woods at night when there is no power. . .
Support Staff list. Helps to write is down.
**Do you have an alternate source of heat for your house? Cooking and heating water? You could bust up the kitchen chairs, pile them up in the backyard, set them on fire and cook, but burning the furniture will run out quickly. Not a permanent or even a standby solution.
**As far as lighting at night goes, I soon discovered the oil lamps that I used for my time in the tar paper shanty, see link, worked great in the shabby shanty because wind blew through the place and took the lamp oily stink with it. But now that we live in a well insulated, almost airtight, place the kerosene fumes burned our eyes and about gagged us. Solar lamps worked much better and were brighter too. Candles are good in a pinch but the hazard potential when basic services are not available is way too great. Go solar.
**Learn to save seeds. When the government cracks down on growing your own food, knowing how to save seeds will be invaluable. Seeds will be a number three most popular barter item to have. Can you guess what number one and two will be? Not counting, alcohol, cigarettes, insulin or illicit drugs.
I love this easy to use seed saving book
***Number one barter item. Guns and Ammo. Always and I mean always have some means of self defense on your person. I can’t express that enough. If you are opposed to taking a life even if it means defending your child, take a look at this non-lethal defensive weapon, see link. Silent hunting, for sneaking up on your dinner or people predators might be a heavy duty slingshot or a bow and arrow. A 15 year old girl downed a 500 pound bear near us one year. But, damn, she was way too close to that beast for my anxiety.
The best non lethal defense for women 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ in my opinion.
I carry pepper spray, a knife and a small .22 or sometimes a .38 special on my person ALWAYS. Even now, this minute, when it’s still relatively calm here.
My danger is different from your danger. The bears are waking up and they are ravenous. You don’t want to get between a momma bear and a food source, especially in early spring. Your danger most likely comes at you on two legs. I would highly recommend you get used to having self defense tool on you at all times, now.
**Store or learn to make a Pedialyte rehydration drink. An old Chinese proverb; The best time to dig a well is before you are thirsty. Electrolyte drink recipe You have a source of clean, filtered water, right?
**A positively essential item will be a bicycle and a wagon. A wagon or cart is indispensable in a grid down situation. Water hauling is heavy, strenuous work. Toddlers can be just as heavy when you need to walk to the neighbors.
**When your sister, her deadbeat husband and their 6 kids come to your house expecting to be taken care of, because you have food in your freezer they wish to help you eat before it goes to waste.
We're coming to your house. The knock on the Door.
**Basic first aid and supplies are a must have. Learn how to use them. They are number 2 on any barter list. Sometimes they make it to number one, especially if you have a source of insulin to share. That reminds me, do you know how to keep food cold in warm weather?
**Would you know how to take care of a dead body in an SHTF situation. Traditionally, it was the women who cleaned the body and made it ready for burial. Through the tears, Marie Osmond took care of her son at home after he passed.
They died at home, now what do we do? It’s not what anyone wants to think about but life and death happens. And sometimes you are the one only that can take care of things.
Ok, all. If you make it through all the links you will be 6 steps ahead of most everyone else. But that is a lot to digest so I will leave it here for now.
Veterans of SHTF preparedness, please let me know how I did. There is so much for young Americans to learn. From the 1950s until present we have been spoiled with conveniences, new technologies and wonderful innovations. "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times"
I never will claim to be an expert, I just had some experiences that taught me well for times like where we are now and moving into Americas uncertain future.
I would love to hear from you. Thanks for being here.
