I recently came across a youtube channel called the Florida Maquis. He was trained in psychological operations for the military. Very interesting guy, he makes his videos easy for us normies to understand! So I subscribed to his Patreon channel, well worth the dollar per month, I might add.
Florida Maquis has pointed out media propaganda and manipulation of public opinion since he began his channel. A couple of days ago he sent out an email with some of his older training videos, so I spent some time going through some of them.
I have taken issue with some of his information and see it differently than he has it presented. But he was a trained military guy and I’m just a simple old lady that has been around a long time. My mileage is different than his in some cases.
I watched the video below and had my own epiphany. Light bulb moment, if you will. Together with philosophy and literature of other really smart people I have read and listened to throughout the years, it became so very clear to me.
Psychological manipulation is so subtle. Can you see it?
Years back I worked for a not-for-profit domestic violence womens shelter. I became good friends with one of the other workers there, but she obviously had issues with the behavior/ way of doing things, of some of the clients that came to the shelter for protection. I tried to counsel her on her bias but wasn’t getting through to her. She was about 10 years younger than me at the time, so I chocked it up to less life experience on her part.
One of the courses that was required during my Nutrition studies, was a course on critical thinking. I would have never thought you could teach people how to think, let alone how to think with a critical eye, but there it was. And at the end of the semester we, of course, had to take an exam. The exam consisted of writing an essay on bias of our choice of one of the books we had used during the nutrition course. I learned much from this class and was amazed at how deep bias and propaganda can become ingrained into us humans! Armed with this college course and my life experience I felt qualified to help her see how others see things. “Put yourself in her shoes” way of thinking.
Even with my counsel, I was becoming frustrated with my friends inability see through her ingrained bias, her emotion. Finally, I posed a question to her that should have made her think and react less emotionally than she did. She took a moment to think about the question. Next thing I know she became emotional, flailing her arms in the air while yelling! By her actions I was now aware of how just out of touch she actually was. This dear lady was quite the learning experience for me. The question I asked her was this;
Imagine there were an island out in the middle of the Pacific ocean and this mystery island had been out there for centuries, undiscovered by other humans. So for centuries these people thought they were the only people on the surface of the ocean. (They had never traveled very far off the island and had never seen other humans.)
Now, it was the custom for this imaginary group of people living on this warm, beautiful, tropical piece of real estate to come home after a long day at the coconut factory and kick the dog. Just one kick as the dog ran up to greet them. Everyone did it for centuries and the dog expected it. Is it wrong?
My friends 10 minute tirade included arresting the imaginary guy who kicked the imaginary dog on this imaginary island.
Is it wrong? By whose standards? It’s what they have known for centuries. Can we allow ourselves to judge them?
Can you see it? Do you know what it is? I’d love to hear what you think. Leave me a comment below. Thanks
Update: After publishing this post I came across this video that perfectly explains it.
Making sense of life. . .video Can you see now? It may be how TPTB have exploited us using this method to bring the U.S. under their control? Did it begin with the break up with the family/tribe structure?
